St. Bride's Major, CF32 0TF

Although the beach is officially called Dunraven Bay, the locals in this county call it Southerndown beach. Whatever you call it, the views will blow your mind. When you visit you can meander through the remains of a 17th-century deer park created on top of an Iron Age hill fort, and explore the walled garden with its Edwardian summer house, pavilion and 19th century tower complete with banqueting hall and ice house. Then you can head for the beach – half pebble, half sand, with spectacular surf.
